Localization Project Manager [Avatar Project]

Job Description
Working in close collaboration with the production team, the Localization Project Manager is responsible for organizing and leading multilingual game localization. The project manager finds the most suitable solutions to cope with local market objectives, linguistic/technical constraints and project specifications.
The localization aspect is tied to the adaptation of the product to a target culture and market. Basically, it consists of handling the translation and adaptation, audios, integration and linguistic quality assurance of a product from a source language, usually English, to several destination languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian, Portuguese, Nordic languages, Russian, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese etc.). The LPM will also work with internationalization, when dealing with an ensemble of actions (technical, process wise or linguistic/content wise) taken so that a product can actually be localized, and, even more, that it can be localized easily, quickly and cheaply.

Responsibilities
- You coordinate the of localization requirements between the development team, translation team and Localization QA team, both on-site and off-site.
- Management of the full localization pipeline and plan the translations and recordings of all assets, ensuring that goals are met.
- Coordinating and ensuring deliveries and integrate all localized assets properly in-game.
- Leading the localization budget, planning and risk assessment.
- Taking on outsourcing responsibilities and all the related administrative and contractual tasks (signing the service agreement, following up the invoices etc.).
- Analyze the game scope and its content from the localization perspective together with production and set the linguistic guidelines of the project.
- Management of internal and external relations (Production, external/internal localization teams, Marketing, Business).
- Project follow-up and controlling to meet quality standards, budget and deadlines

- 3-5 years of experience with AAA localization projects in the games industry, including full audio localisations.
- A couple of years' experience with localization QA, preferably with games.
- Excellent communication, coordination and insight skills.
- Experience with virtual teams across multiple time zones.
- Good knowledge of modern project management methods and tools (JIRA, MS Project, etc.)
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of game industry localization processes and potential bottlenecks/risks, both general and language specific.
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
Bonus skills
- Previous experience working with complex localization tools or CATT, specifically memoQ.
- Understanding of video games production and interest in technology and languages.
- Experience with French as an organizational language is a plus.
