Localization Manager

The Localisation Manager role is to manage the Localisation team based in Mexico City. The team comprises of Linguists and Project Managers.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Games Localisation and experience leading teams.Team management
- Recruit, Manage, monitor, develop and motivate the team
- Set goals for Project Managers
- Give regular performance feedback.
- Provide leadership and mentoring, manage performance/personnel issues within team.
- Build good working relationships with all team members.
- Manage holiday planning. Ensure backups are in place for each PM. Record holiday allocations and ensure team takes allocated annual holidays
- Work with PM Team manager to ensure team is resourced appropriately
- Work with HR to plan training based on development and performance needs
- Work with Project managers, loc engineering & resource management to determine workflow and best processes to follow in order to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Identify opportunities and spearhead initiatives to continuously improve service and project processes
- Ensure Keywords QA process is followed and QA standards met.
- Monitor project processes (localization plan, post mortems, resources, submissions, etc.)
- Continuously manage and adapt the work plan and resources required in consultation and agreement with the client.
- Manage internal and external resources in order to ensure that they perform according to the project instructions, client expectations and the company's QA procedures.
- Ensure Keywords QA process is followed and QA standards met.
- Make independent decisions on work methods to be used on projects, while following established standards and procedures of the department.
- Manage Team costs, approve team expenses.
- Monitor profit margin on projects. Take action when margins are below target, work with PMs, Loc management to address
- Manage internal costs/budgets, deal with additional/unexpected costs and take corrective action in order to ensure the project profitability targets are met or exceeded.
- Take responsibility for personal learning and training needs
Process Management

- Liaise with client to understand their goals and expectations, and anticipate/address client needs and concerns to prevent issues.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with clients
- Foster collaborative, effective partnership with client
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Loc
- Experience managing teams an advantage
- Must be motivated and a team player
- Strong leadership competency
- Excellent English both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of MemoQ an advantage
- Passion for the video game industry
