Concept, create and deploy a long-term viable content licensing strategy, built around Sumo original IP titles. Working closely with Sumo’s internal development studios and Group service functions, the role will seek and secure complementary inbound / outbound licensing opportunities and ensure best-practice Licensor relations.
What you'll be doing
- Play a lead role in setting, implementing, and tracking Sumo’s long-term IP licensing strategy.
- Actively seek out new business relationships, establish mutually beneficial opportunities, negotiate commercial terms, and maintain consistent ongoing communication.
- Establish a best-in-class portfolio of inbound IP to increase the exposure & value of Sumo original titles.
- Build a network of outbound licensing partners to help maximize the reach, revenue and relevancy of our own IP.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external IP / Brand stakeholders.
- Work with internal Sumo studios to create best-practice licensing plans per individual title and from a franchise ‘umbrella’ perspective where relevant.
- Create and maintain licensing decks for use in promoting licensing opportunities to external partners.
- Build and maintain a licensing CRM database.
- Aid in the creation of financial models that benchmark and / or forecast expected financial performance of licensing opportunities.
- Expertly advise key stakeholders on industry / competitor trends, global markets and strategic licensing targets to enable relevant and informed decisions at both the studio and Group-level.
Requirements of the role
- An interest in video games and familiarity with the video game industry structure (publishers, developers, licensors, distributors) and business models (free to play, downloadable content, micro transactions etc).
- Experienced in negotiations, with a track record of signed licensing opportunities – ideally within the gaming industry.
- Strong relations with 3rd party IP holders is desirable.
- Proficient in building and maintaining a CRM.

- Comfortable with domestic and foreign travel
- Familiarity with financial reporting concepts such as P&Ls, capitalisation, and amortisation etc is desirable
