Licensing Coordinator – Toys & Games
Summary of Role
The Licensing Coordinator, Toys & Games, is an integral team member reporting to the Manager, Toys & Games and is responsible for supporting management of day-to-day business across all Toys & Games accounts for domestic territories.
What You Will Do
- Licensing Expert: Become the expert on the merchandise licensing industry across Toys & Games categories. Includes deep understanding of retail landscape, key categories for each target demographic, market potential, consumer insight and trends, and top tier players in the field.
- Business Planning: Work alongside the Manager, Toys & Games to develop strategic merchandise licensing programs, including line-planning and product development in partnership with brand compliance teams.
- Account Management: Function as primary contact for all day-to-day business. Meet with partners on regular basis to review relevant agenda points for each, including product development, marketing, and monthly POS data review.
- Product Approvals: Review approvals system daily for product submissions needing Business Licensing review. Check submissions against approved line plans. Return comments/approvals as appropriate.
- Revenue Tracking: Ensure quarterly forecasting and royalty reports are received from licensees and all requested information is provided. Assist with compilation of data for internal reporting as needed.
- Event Planning & Tradeshows: Participate and assist with the planning and attendance of annual Licensing Summits, Licensing Show, Toy Fair and other trade shows and events to ensure all events are turn-key.
- Embrace the Pokémon Brand: Keep up to date on Pokémon’s wide range of product offerings and content, inclusive of the Animated series, Trading Card Game, Video Games and Mobile. Use this knowledge to inform day to day activities.
What You Will Bring

- Education: BS or BA Degree and/or equivalent working experience.
- Experience: 1-2 years minimum related experience, with previous experience in toy licensing, manufacturing or related field a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact well with work-groups and various personalities; leadership, strategic, and creative thinking skills; and have an entrepreneurial spirit, with positive, can-do attitude; and the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with little supervision.
- Project Management Skills: Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and presentation skills; must possess a proven ability to multi-task various projects in a fast-pasted environment.
- Negotiation Skills: Able to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills, deal interpretation and analysis, and sound business judgement.
- Computer skills: Strong MS Office including excel spreadsheets, and experience with PowerPoint presentations.
