Work Location: This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role could be any of the following locations: Bellevue, WA; Vancouver, BC; or Montreal, Quebec (preference will be given to candidates who are local or willing to relocate)

Summary
Final Strike Games is looking for an adaptable, results-driven and hands-on Level Artist to help bring a brand-new PC/Console Action Exploration IP to life. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and immersive experience of our games.

Duties include but not limited to:
- Create exciting and attractive environments that are lush with detail and interesting scene composition
- Collaborate closely with level and game designers to understand and interpret the artistic vision for game environments, while balancing gameplay objectives
- Design, create, and implement 3D game levels, ensuring a seamless blend of aesthetics, gameplay, and storytelling
- Create compelling and well-paced levels by strategically placing 3D models, textures, and environmental elements
- Contribute to the creation of high-quality textures and materials, maintaining consistency with the established art style
- Receive and integrate feedback from team members and playtesters, iteratively refining level designs to meet quality standards
- Work from reference art and images to achieve projects visual goals and match referenced art styles
- Recognize and offer input on the modeling and texturing requirements essential for realizing environments, seamlessly integrating these components to deliver a unified and immersive experience
- Collaborate in the creation of efficient and scalable pipelines and workflows for the creation of levels
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a Level Artist role
- 1+ shipped AAA Title(s) for PC or console as a Level Artist
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya), texturing tools, and Unreal Engine
- An impressive portfolio showcasing environmental storytelling, composition, and visual aesthetics
- Keen perception for elements that render a scene captivating, employing aspects such as color, shadow, silhouette, composition, and the arrangement/population of assets
- Strong understanding of how environments affect gameplay and vice versa
- A creative problem-solver when it comes to artistic challenges
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Absolute passion for playing and making console and PC games
- Ability to implement and update game assets in the engine
Nice to have:
- Ability to establish and troubleshoot environment art pipeline in UE4 and UE5 would be considered an advantage
- Experience with ShotGrid (Shotgun), Jira or other bug tracking and project management software
- Experience creating assets

The annual base compensation for a mid-level role is anticipated to be between $74,723 - $127,734 USD ($98,191 - $167,850 CAD) and the annual base compensation for a senior role is anticipated to be between $94,084 - $160,832 USD ($123,632 - $211,343 CAD). Final offer amounts are determined by a variety of factors, including where the work will be performed, and may vary from the range above.
