We are looking for a Lead Vehicle Artist to join the early development of a new, AAA, Unreal 5 multiplayer action game. This bold project aims to break new ground in multiplayer, blending gameplay mechanics in new ways and deeply embedding storytelling elements into a unique universe. We’re building an elite, diverse first-party team and this is your opportunity to help shape a future blockbuster!
This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced vehicle artist to work closely with the Art Director and Technical Art team. defining the artistic vision for vehicle design on this ambitious project. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills along with the requisite knowledge & creative skillset required to deliver to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- To help set and maintain an efficient and effective vehicle pipeline
- Work with the AD, TA’s, and other key project team members
- Build, lead, and mentor a highly skilled vehicle team
- Create and maintain vehicle documentation
- Review and critique artwork and communicate this back to artists for a given piece of work
- To create and guide creation of vehicles that fulfil the artistic vision for the game as well as work within the given constraints
- Goal setting and sprint planning. The ability to set timelines and break down the vehicle creation process for scheduling
- Mentoring of more junior staff
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Lead Vehicle Artist
- An eagerness to learn new working practices and software but can bring their own experience of best working practices to the team and studio
- A thorough understanding of the latest art workflows
- Excellent and demonstrable vehicle creation skills including accurate proportions, smooth flowing bodywork, clean and optimised topology, vehicle damage, material usage etc.
- Ability to work from concept but also modify the concept where required
- Ability to plan and set the vehicle work in an efficient manner
- Energetic and positive attitude with strong leadership skills
- A strong interest in vehicle design
- Highly experienced with Console development
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Working with and creating documentation for outsource companies
- A strong understanding of vehicle mechanics
- Experienced with Unreal Engine
