Lead User Interface Artist for Ubisoft Craiova

Summary:
As a User Interface Lead Artist at Ubisoft, you will be working closely with the Art Director and Game Director, establishing the look and feel of User Interface for our games. You will be responsible of overseeing the collaboration of the UI Art team with the Design and Programming team throughout the process of implementing the Menu & HUD assets in the game.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Art Director and Game Director to determine to establish a compelling and cohesive look to the User Interface for our games;
- Create visual concepts, mock-ups and prototypes for representative User Interface elements;
- Oversee the collaboration with Programming and Tech teams to make sure the User Interface elements designed and create strictly follow the technical constraints (memory and rendering performance);
- Ensure and oversee the smooth implementation of all designed User Interface assets, matching the intention, in collaboration with the Programming team;
- Support the UI team with any graphical and technical issues they might encounter in the production process;
- Maintain quality, efficiency and consistency across your work;
- Contribute to the growth of the UI Artist team by mentoring, coaching the team and setting a benchmark in terms of technical and communication skills.
Qualifications
Your profile:
Skills:
- Video-gaming culture and interest in video-games development;
- Previous experience in a lead/coordinator graphic design role (portfolio needed);
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design tools;
- Good Artistic skills (proportion, composition, color);
- A keen eye for usability and clarity;
- Attention to detail for technical quality, as well as files and resource organization;
- Algorithmic thinking and interest in the implementation aspect of the User Interface;
- Up-to-date with the current design and typographical trends;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Fluency in English.
Nice to have:
- Shipped at least one AAA game as a User Interface Artist/Designer;
- Relevant experience with any Game Editors will be taken into account;
- Proficiency in Adobe Flash;
- ActionScript, HTML or JavaScript knowledge is considered a plus;
- Proficiency with any Node-Based software is appreciated.
