Your Mission:

  • As Lead UI Artist , you will be leading a team that’s responsible for the creation of UI art in all phases of production. Through outstanding communication and organizing skill s you will facilitate pro blem-solving between your team and different departments/studios while fostering new ideas and improv ed processes to build user interfaces for extraordinary games. You should have a good eye for UI quality down to the smallest detail complimented by a knowledge of real time requirements and constraints. The ideal candidate should be an empathetic leader that not only cultivates UI art discipline through challenge & collaboration, but also takes an active interest in the professional development of their artists.

    Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Empower a team of UI artists toward s crafting high quality UI menus, HUDs, icons, flows, and animations
  • Manage the day-to- day by creating tasks (JIRA) , priorities, risks , progress, stand-ups, and other line management tools /processes
  • Represent the UI art team in cross-studio and discipline communications
  • Work with producers and senior management to align the UI art team’s roadmap in planning & scoping exercises.
  • Spearhead team efforts to maintain style guide s , feature documentation and asset libraries
  • Ensure a cohesive , polished Franchise UI direction in collaborati on with artists, senior UI art/design manager, directors , and external studio stakeholders
  • Validate that UI implementation meets UI art and motion intentions
  • Facilitate art reviews and constructive feedback sessions
  • Organize retrospectives, build reviews, UI jams, and other UI professional activities
  • Research, evaluate processes , gather feedback, and propose practices that innovate UI art/design practices
  • Promote and plan training opportunities
  • Promot e a team culture of collaborat ion, innovation , empathy , and work-life balance
  • Mentor and support the professional development of team members
  • Assist with recruitment and interviews

Player Profile

  • 7 + years of industry experience working in the field of UI art/design for games
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a cross-functional team environment
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, JIRA, Confluence
  • Exceptional knowledge of visual design, motion design, typography, and iconography
  • Solid understanding of user experience , accessibility best practices , ergonomic UI principle s
  • Expert knowledge of game user interface patterns across mobile, console and PC platforms
  • Strong ability to analy z e and assess mockups ensuring alignment with the v isual d irection , especially for those small details that matter
  • Understanding of implementation processes, optimization practices and asset requirements
  • Strong core communication skills which foster a creative environment centered around collaboration, innovation, and empathy
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and mentoring capabilitie s
  • Experience in facilitating constructive art critique conversations
  • Ability to create and present high level documentation, style guides, ideation, process proposals , brainstorming, reports
  • Portfolio demonstrating required UI art skills and knowledge
