Lead Technical Audio Designer

As our new Lead Technical Audio Designer, you will join and lead an established team of Audio Designers, working alongside our Audio Programmers and game development teams to design and implement immersive audio for our highly ambitious games.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement immersive audio to an exceptional standard for our hugely ambitious gaming experiences.
- Work closely with the Audio Director, Lead Audio Programmer, and Lead technical audio designers.
- Take ownership of day-to-day audio tasks such as design, scheduling, and communicating with departments from all disciplines.
- Manage offsite vendor relationships.
- Design audio systems such as dialogue, ambience, and physics.
- Help establish and direct the aesthetic of our projects. Communicate this effectively with our audio team, outsourcers, and external development partners.
- Assist the Audio Producer in creating audio roadmaps and schedules for the audio team.
- Show initiative, drive, and autonomy.
- Mentor and manage the audio team, providing support, growth, and learning.
- Advise on audio hardware and software purchases.
- Understand and adapt to evolving game design and iterative game development.
- Organise and coordinate the tasks, activities, and resources required as part of the production process for junior team members.
- Supervise all aspects of project audio work and ensure the team adheres to deadlines.
- Provide a balanced aesthetic approach to audio design to create immersive, open-world game soundscapes.
- Understand the technical and artistic boundaries of the game’s story, gameplay, and overall vision to direct the team.
- Review work created by the audio team members and offer feedback to exceed project goals.
- Optimise workflow and processes for the audio team.
Requirements
- Experience working with AAA pipelines with at least two shipped AAA titles.
- Expert in Wwise, Reaper, and UE5.
- Understand advanced audio concepts (mixing, signal flow, 2D and 3D audio, occlusion, memory budgets, data compression, reverb, tools, reflections, streaming, etc).
- Understand and adapt to evolving game design and iterative game development.
- Keep on top of new audio developments and technologies to ensure we can adapt.
- Proficient in adapting to new systems and processes.
- Extensive knowledge of Videogame Audio.
