As a Lead Technical Animator, you will be representing an industry leading team of veterans focused on delivering the pinnacle of animation pipelines and technologies to our company. This is a broad mandate and covers a great deal of technology that our company relies upon, including next gen facial animation rigs, human and creature body animation rigs, industry leading Maya animation pipeline, Cross platform deformation plugin technologies, source control file management and curation, external pipeline integration and animation implementation. Lead by example by collaborating with Art, Animation, Design, Code, Production and Tech Animation to identify points of development and points of failure to be addressed in a timely manner. Work with Technical Director to maintain consistency of team’s deliverables and ensure timely completion of technical art commitments at the desired quality bar. Actively mentor members of the Tech Animation team. Providing guidance, feedback and support to assist in their daily works and professional development. Create, maintain, and support technical animation pipelines and tools to deliver cutting-edge animations and workflows. Contribute to and develop new technology and pipelines to assist the company at large wherever possible. Troubleshooting asset-related technical issues in many content creation packages as well as in game. What do we expect from our Lead Technical Animator? A firm understanding of delivery requirements and schedules throughout Technical Animations staff assignments to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion. Excellence with Maya animation and rigging systems alongside a good understanding of coding languages, such as Python and/or C++. Ability to effectively understand and communicate technical animation requirements across a range of disciplines. Ability to plan and execute both small and large scale team assignments. A proactive hands-on approach, with a drive to get animation in game and working well for the players. Demonstrable relevant experience in the game development industry.
