Your Role:
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will report to the VP of Engineering and be responsible for leading and managing a team of MARVEL Snap engineers as we continue to provide our players with delightful and robust new gameplay experiences. What You’ll Do:
- Lead engineers and other stakeholders to review development challenges, define requirements and then propose, test and ship solutions
- Actively participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and idea sharing
- Design and create data-driven workflows for the feature development of our games
- Establish new (and improve existing) pipelines and processes in support of designers, artists, audio designers, data scientists, and other engineers
- Enable developers to work more effectively by improving tools and systems and testing capabilities to support feature releases
- Collaborate with content creator teams to identify tools, workflow challenges, and implement solutions to address them
- Champion automation tools with an eye towards reducing build times and manual processes
- Improve our automated test coverage especially within the continuous integration process
- Help prioritize and break down engineering team tasks so that the right work is done next
What You’ll Need:
- Desire to lead by putting the needs of coworkers first and helping people develop to perform the best they can
- High levels of empathy and support for team members
- Willingness to mentor other engineers and be invested in their career growth
- Approachability and excitement to collaborate on design and tech
- Ability to communicate complex, technical information (in both written and verbal forms) to both technical and non technical audiences
- Passion for constant improvement of tooling, automation and process to improve the quality of our products and the lives of our teammates
- Extensive full-stack experience with modern mobile game design
- Excitement about automated testing
- Expertise in the development and deployment of cloud-based software applications
- Hands-on experience building and supporting continuous integration pipelines
- Experience developing Unity applications
- Passion for playing and making great games
Nice to Have, but Not Necessary:
- Professional success as a leader of engineers by providing assessment and individual career development paths
- Proficiency with Git, .NET, and AWS
The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $200,000 - $270,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.
Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future.
