Your role on this unannounced project will give you the chance to build core technologies from almost the ground up to drive the project’s entire development process, with ample room for career growth. You will lead a burgeoning client engineering team and help create the vision for that will drive best-in-class gameplay, art, and audio experiences. When particularly hard problems arise, you'll collaborate with fellow members of the team and project leadership to define and implement a technical vision that meets the project's needs.
COVID-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coach software engineers to create a high performing team
- Collaborate closely with design and production to plan for multiple initiatives at once
- Work with product and design on the implementation of features end-to-end
- Support content and feature creation pipelines, tool development, and workflow improvements
- Develop performant, sustainable, and maintainable technologies and code policies
- Ensure game features and systems are scalable, flexible, and simple to use
- Enable other engineers to be productive while working with client code systems
- Champion Blizzard’s core values, especially “Gameplay First” and "Commit to Quality"
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience in software development
- Strong, proven programming skills (C#, .NET Core and Standard)
- Experience with the Unity platform, performance analysis, and code optimization
- Experience with implementing multi-platform game systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with artists, designers, and other engineers
- Self-motivated and willing to participate in all areas of engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience in mentorship and engineering team management is strongly desired
Pluses
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
- Experience with performance analysis and code optimization for multiple platforms
- Previous experience shipping and supporting a Live product at a global scale
- Full client stack experience (UI, gameplay, systems, tools, etc.)
- Developed software in a cloud-hosted environment (AWS, GCP)
- iOS and/or Android software development expertise
- Passion for Blizzard games
