Day in the Life of a Lead Prop Artist

As Lead Prop Artist, you will be managing a small team of 4-6 prop artists in creating stylized, hand-painted props for Auroch’s unannounced AAA outsourcing project.

This is a varied role, with a strong focus on leadership. You will primarily mentor your team of prop artists, guiding them through creative and technical challenges and helping them achieve artistic growth and career goals. This includes attending client feedback and production meetings, planning schedules and workflows, and anticipating project risks and challenges well in advance so the team can put contingencies in place. Your experience as a Prop Artist will be key to smooth art production pipeline for the entire team.

The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience creating stylized prop art on commercial productions. Previous experience as a Lead is not required, but we are looking for someone with a strong interest in developing as a manager and mentor.

What you need to do this job:

• A strong interest in, or enthusiasm for management styles that prioritizes the growth and well-being of your team.

• A portfolio demonstrating appealing, stylized prop art.

• Ability to self-direct and meet quality and production goals.

• Experience integrating and testing art for gameplay requirements in a game engine.

• Ability to represent the prop team professionally to clients in external feedback and production meetings.
