Overview
The Lead Product Manager is accountable for the delivery of products for the online platform. The Lead Product Manager is responsible for setting the vision, building the product strategy, defining the development backlog, managing stakeholders, prioritizing development features and collaborating with peers on their products under their umbrella. The ideal candidate is able to manage and mentor product team members to support them as they grow and progress as a Product Manager while continuously work to improve the performance and processes of the Product Management team. This position regularly reports project status to other key stakeholders within the organization to help ensure the product’s commercial success. The Lead Product Manager also monitors project risk and works with the leadership team to develop and present risk mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for delivery of products and services managed under the Lead Product Manager's program(s).
- Interface with Bethesda.net leadership and stakeholders across the company to routinely assess and collectively align on the vision for Bethesda.net.
- Collaborate with the Director of Product and other Lead Product Managers to create a 12-24-month product roadmap and a 2-5-year vision plan.
- Provide thought leadership for the development of next generation capabilities that deliver breakthrough business value and make it easy for our internal consumers to access, use, and build on core services.
- Identify platform objectives and collaborate with other disciplines to set measurable key results.
- Define business cases to influence product strategy investment.
- Determines product management best practices, process, and SOPs for the execution of work.
- Routinely surveys product management landscape and makes recommendations for the use of new software and tools.
- Establish formal mentor relationships with senior, mid-level, and associate Product Managers.
- Provide oversight of program initiative schedules, milestones, and risk assessments.
- Foster a safe and professional work environment which encourages teamwork and collaboration
- Plan staffing in coordination with other business units and participate in hiring / recruiting
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years of product management experience.
- End-to-end knowledge of software development lifecycle, pipelines, and technology.
- Familiarity with video games and live services.
- Must have a finger on the pulse of the video game business; know where it is and where it is going.
- Strong strategic thinking and organizational leadership skills.
- Be able to tailor communication to different audiences.
