Job Description
As Lead Game Designer you will act in a project leadership capacity to help solve production or creative problems. You will be working closely with the Game Director & Creative Director. You are responsible for building design teams and collaborate with partners. The major focus areas of this position are people management, creativity, communication, problem solving and mitigation.
What you will do:
- Plan, detail, and directly supervise the work of Game Designers in your team
- Enable your coworkers to develop and deliver a product of exceptional quality
- Make player needs your focus and help your team deliver an engaging player experience
- Help production understand the design team’s production capacity and work together to schedule and prioritize tasks
- Manage your Game Design team and help them be at their best
- Be the communication link between project direction, production and your team while ensuring full visibility & strong alignment between job families
- Promote efficient design documentation and help your team achieve this goal
- Actively participate in recruitment of future team members
- Help foster a positive work environment that will impact team motivation and performance
Qualifications
What you bring:
- Excellent knowledge in Game Design and Production. Exposure to Project Management welcomed
- Prior experience in team leadership is a plus
- Experience working on major titles on current or recent platforms
- Methodology and problem-solving ability
- Highly organized, analytical, with good management and planning skills
- Team player who sees the strengths of the individuals on the team and understands that people are the most important part of a project
