Virtual Realms are looking for an experienced and talented Lead Game Designer to take a core role in our Warhammer Odyssey team. The ideal candidate has expertise in developing MMORPGs, strong leadership skills and a broad design knowledge which they can apply to various forms of content and systems design. You would be responsible for taking ownership of the games design vision and realizing that through your own design abilities and management of team members.
You will have a proven track record in game design, the ability to analyze pragmatically and problem solve creatively, the ability and desire to share your skills and get the best out of other team member, your passion for games should be infectious.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the design team and take responsibility for the conception and delivery of features, systems and content.
- Work with the project management team to manage, schedule and organize the design team and their tasks.
- Motivate and inspire the design team with drive, passion and energy.
- Ensure time estimates are accurate and tasks are completed on time.
- Foster good communication within design and with the wider team.
- Ensure the team design documentation is up to date and of high quality.
- Mentors and provides feedback to team members, helping them reach their potential.
- Perform as necessary hands on content, systems and feature design.
QUALITIES:
- Multiple years game design experience including senior or lead involvement on a shipped product.
- In depth content and systems design experience, has taken ownership of full implementation from concept to delivery.
- Lead by example; passionate and enthusiastic with a first in last out mentality.
- Low ego, ability to admit mistakes and accept alternative ideas.
- Strong communication skills to share designs with the wider development team along with good writing and documentation skills.
- Passion for the MMORPG game genre.
- Knowledge of mobile game industry best practices.
- Native level English.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Bangkok, Thailand
