Lead Game Designer

Ramen VR is looking for a Lead Game Designer to own the design direction of Zenith. As Lead Game Designer, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and hiring a world class design team to push the boundaries of what's possible in an MMO.
You will work directly with the CEO/Creative Director to execute on a highly ambitious vision to create a singular MMO world that stands the test of time.
We're looking for a leader who can act as a player coach -- someone that isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to write specs, make content, and run a roadmap, but can also zoom out and own the cohesive vision for the game.
Responsibilities:
- Understand consumer needs and ensure that the elements developed by the team will contribute to player satisfaction and enjoyment.
- Assess the workload vs. production capacity, plan the work, and set priorities for the game design team.
- Allocate duties and follow the evolution of the team’s progress on deliverables.
- Design and run both PvE and player driven MMO economy.
- Own our LiveOps strategy and content roadmap.
- Develop and own a feature or major gameplay design from inception through release.
- Plan, detail, and supervise the work of Game Designers within your purview, with the goal of developing and delivering a game of exceptional quality.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a game designer.
- You've driven at least one title or expansion from early concept to launch, working on a core feature or system end to end.
- Experience supervising a game design team is a significant asset.
- Deep level of understanding of multiplayer PvE games (MMOs, ARPG, etc).
- Highly organized, analytical, with good management and planning skills.
- Experience working in a live game situation with constant updates and new content.
Pluses:
- You have experience in not only gameplay design, but also other design disciplines such as systems, level, or narrative design.
- Experience designing in-game economies.
- Experience designing real time combat systems.
- Passion for playing MMORPGs.
- Experience working with VR products.
- Experience with a startup or indie studio.
