We are looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join the team on our brand new project. The Lead Environment Artist will be an essential part of the art team, making a huge impact on the games we create.

A Lead Environment Artist at Studio Gobo...
- Strong understanding of composition, storytelling, and experience crafting cinematic and credible worlds.
- Accomplished in the field of environment art with a great knowledge of modelling, texture mapping, material authoring, lighting, streaming and LOD systems.
- Fundamental understanding of level design requirements and fostering a collaborative culture between level art, level design and other discipline leads.
- Proficient and knowledgeable of engine limitations and enhancing content with performance in mind.
- Passionate about innovation within the field of environment art, assessing pipelines and pushing for excellence.
- Experienced in the use of industry 3d Packages 3DSMax, Maya, blender and all current modern graphics packages including, z-brush, substance painter and designer, photoshop and others relating to the field.
- Critically analyse, troubleshoot, and implement strategies to mitigate risk to visual quality that may arise from production challenges or team morale.
- Excellent communication skills including strong leadership, team, and people management skills.
- Working with the Studio Art Director and Lead Artist to build and foster a culture of excellence on the art team.
- Backlog creation and able to delegate and assign work to team members using JIRA or other tracking tools used on the project.
- Involvement in interviewing and portfolio reviews.
- Onboard new environment Art Team members, mentoring them and carrying out performance reviews whilst supporting HR functions in respect to all aspects of your Teams needs and career development with assistance and support from the Studio Art Director and Lead Artist.
- Review and deliver work in accordance with the project's artistic direction and deadlines, interpreting feedback from Studio Art Director and Lead Artist and inspiring the environment art team to deliver to expectations.
- Experience in Unreal Engine a distinct advantage.

- Professional experience in world art creation for console games.
- Shipped at least one AAA console title as a Lead Environment Artist on current generation hardware (PS4, Xbox one)
- A portfolio of industry-related work that showcases your ability and talent.

- A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic team player, positive and outgoing personality with a can-do attitude.
