Lead Encounter Designer – Diablo IV

Job Description:

Come be a part of the future of Diablo IV! This position will involve leading a team of designers through the design and implementation of bosses, creature behavior, spawning, and placement. The ideal candidate has experience in team leadership, encounter design, a strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, boundless creativity and a strong visual aesthetic, and a passion for playing video games.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• Experience mentoring others in a team environment
• Experience working with production and discipline leaders to coordinate work
• At least 3 years action-oriented combat design experience in the video game industry
• Extensive experience playing games in the Diablo franchise

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• A demonstrable understanding of the role creature mechanics play in a combat model

Key Attributes

• Able to work creatively in a demanding technical environment
• Absolute passion for playing and making computer games

Extra Points

Experience

• Experience directly leading a group of developers
• Design experience on a multiplayer action game
• Non-design development experience (artist, programmer, etc.)
• Experience designing boss encounters in any game

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiar with high-level scripting languages such as Lua or Python
