Activision Blizzard Esports is looking for a Lead Assistant Editor for original content for both the Call of Duty League and Overwatch League, as well oversee a team of assistant editors. The ideal candidate has previous assistant editor experience in a fast-paced production company, broadcast environment, or post-production facility. They are highly motivated, highly organized, and can adapt quickly to changing goals and objectives. Ideal candidate must also be comfortable flexing between both leagues. The Lead Assistant Editor will work closely with the Post-Production Supervisor Senior Editor to refine and enforce workflows and manage content requests.
Interested candidates should possess excellent people and communication skills, be comfortable working under tight deadlines, have excellent organizational and time management skills, is comfortable taking direction and feedback, is easily adaptable to shifting priorities, and possesses an ability to work with equal effectiveness both solo and as part of a project team.
Responsibilities
- Navigate broadcast streams and footage assets, pulling creative selects for editors
- Utilize ABE's Cloud and Local servers, curating footage, music, and media for the department
- Support the editing needs of other departments including franchise, marketing, and broadcast
- Oversee a small team of contingent Assistant Editors
- Work with department leadership to innovating new tech solutions for post-production workflow
- Assist Post-Production Supervisor with managing needs and workflows with external production partners
- Work with Producers to plan and source footage for multiple projects
Requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience as an assistant editor in a production company, broadcast environment, or post-production facility
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Reliable, fast internet connection (can be expensed).
- Experience working within established workflows, with provided project templates and export presets and adhering to strict naming schemes.
- A positive, constructive, collaborative attitude, with the ability to work well with others and multitask in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with good technical & broadcast knowledge
- Proactive and flexible approach to work; comfortable with changing goals and objectives and receptive to feedback.
- Asset management experience
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite.
Pluses
- A passion for video games and esports.
- Understand OWL/CDL storylines, teams, and players to best understand what footage supports creative needs
- MAM/DAM experience
- Experience working in a remote production environment.
- Previous sports or esports experience in broadcast or marketing
