Brass Lion Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled, specialized Lead Artist to join a talented and diverse team currently working on a new , unannounced A ction - Role Playing Game (Consoles, PC) with an anime art style.
Working alongside our Art Director, the ideal candidate will have an exceptional ability to create art for games and mentor others on doing the same. They will be passionate about leading and sharing our vision for reimagining how games can look and feel. They will play a key role in defining the player’s visual experience in our game world, and will be responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring a portion of the artists on the team.

We have adapted to a fully remote working structure, with our team members contributing from New York City, Montréal, and fourteen other locations across Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
- Work with art director to lead the art team.
- Collaborate with principal artists to support the creation and implementation of art pipelines.
- Manage a portion of the artist on the art team.
- Mentor artists and grow their skills.
- Lead art and cross discipline feature groups in planning and implementing solutions in the engine.
- Participate in planning and critiquing of the project.
- Stay up to date on current trends and techniques of NPR asset authoring.
Required Qualifications
- Top quality NPR portfolio highlighting the intersection of meshes, textures, and material into gorgeous art.
- Expert knowledge of Unreal engine and various DCC packages (Blender, Maya, Adobe, Substance, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of the elements of the game art pipeline, including mesh and texture creation and manipulation across character and environments.
- A deep interest in Anime art.
- Experience mentoring artists of different skill levels.
- Located and authorized for work in the US or Canada.

Skills & Attributes
- Strong ability to reliably communicate and produce content in a self-disciplined remote work environment.
- Strong art foundation skills.
- Leadership experience.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of games industry (or relevant) experience.
- Experience with Houdini, Substance Designer, and other procedural software or development solutions.
- Develop and maintain tech art asset and tool depots that support material work.

Salary Transparency: The standard base pay range for this role is USD$120,000 - USD$150,000 Annual (CDN$120,000 - CDN$170,000). Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
