Lead Animator

Job Overview

Wargaming UK is seeking a Lead Animator who will be responsible for creating the wide range of animation required to realise our vision for an exciting new AAA title.

We need a seasoned professional to help define the motion style of our title as well as developing our production pipelines for an incredible range of characters, creatures, vehicles and machines and as such we require a highly motivated individual with a strong eye for detail, and a deep understanding of game development processes.

Reports To

The Lead Animator will report to the Art Manager.

What will you do?

• Bring life and emotion to stylized vehicles, characters and creatures
• Develop an animation style which enhances the visual art style of our game
• Create both gameplay and cutscene animations
• Work with Technical Art/Animation to implement animations and animation systems

What are we looking for?

• Excellent keyframe animation skills for characters, creatures and vehicles
• Ownership of animation quality from source to engine
• Experience authoring animations for gameplay systems
• Good understanding of game animation pipelines
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts and problem solve collectively
• Experience in defining workflows for external partners and delivering constructive feedback

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Experience using Unreal
• Experience with Animation Systems (such as blueprints & state machines)
• Proficiency with Autodesk Maya
• A good sense of humour and a passion for animation
