Lead Animator

You will be a part of the creation of a first-ever VR/AR World of Science and Technology experience; a collaborative Virtual and Augmented Reality platform between industry leading scientists and universities for one of the world’s biggest industries. As Lead Animator you’ll oversee the Animation team, working in conjunction with the Art Director and Managers to plan work for the team and ensure our high quality bar is realised. You’ll be working with characters, animals, vehicles and props and as such we require a motivated professional with a strong eye for detail, a fundamental understanding of game development processes and a passion for VR/AR.
Requirements:
- Excellent level of animation. Able to work in multiple styles of animation.
- Great familiarity with 3D animation tools, especially Maya and UE4.
- Experience in a variety of animation styles.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy.
- Rigging, weighting and blendshape / morph target generation is a must.
- Strong interest in self-development of managerial skills, overseeing the work of other team members and mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Ability to communicate with artists, technical team members and studio leadership.
- A strong and diverse portfolio of different animation styles.
- A self-motivated team player with good communication skills.
- Must have the ability to export assets from Maya and imprt into UE4.
- Must have the ability to set up materials on exported animation assets in UE4.
- Must have a good understanding of optimizing assets for inegration into games engines.
- Plan and estimate projects to ensure content is delivered on time and on budget.

- Python, PyMel, Mel scripting knowledge
- Modeling- Character/ Prop Modeling
- Modeling- Zbrush
- Substance Painter/Designer
- Retopology workflow
- Rigging and Animation pipeline and tool development
- Experience with Git
