What you’ll be doing day-to-day at ustwo

ustwo are looking for an experienced Android developer to join our Tech Team to work on an exciting, high-profile consumer mobile application.

In this role, you will join an established team of developers (iOS, fullstack, Android and QA engineers) as well as designers, Agile coaches and product owners. The iOS version of the application is already live, performing extremely well, and has ranked as one of the top iOS applications in market since launch. With an existing battle-tested backend, CI/CD pipeline and well-formed API, our Android team’s goal is to build a compelling Android offering that will be at feature-parity with the iOS version, while adapting and improving the experience for the Android platform to take advantage of it’s unique interaction patterns and platform-specific capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to start on day 1 with a skilled, motivated development squad with a very clear and well-defined goal and a world-class product delivery team supporting you.

Essentials skills for the job

Skills we’re looking for are in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, unit test frameworks (e.g. Spek), and experience working with GraphQL APIs (e.g. AppSync or Apollo). The application is available on both phones and tablets, and has a rich UI with animations and other complex UI/UX elements. Significant experience with UI/UX implementation is required.

We’re looking for someone with experience leading teams, mobile application architecture and working in an agile environment.

Nice-to-have, but not essential - experience with Firebase Analytics, Lottie, RevenueCat, Zendesk and Brightcove.

Start date

From Mid-March, ASAP.

This role will be hired out of our Lisbon office, however we are open to all locations in Portugal.

End date

12 month fixed term contract with longer contract terms possible, as well as the future possibility of converting to permanent employment.

Salary Band for Lead Developer: €60,000 - €70,000
