Junior Web Developer

Job Summary:

We are on the lookout for a talented Web Developer to join the dynamic Online Development team here in our Square Enix Europe London office. The Online Development team is responsible for Square Enix’s web presence across the western world, including the main Square Enix website, product specific sites and the underlying technology platform which supports them all. They are tasked with delivering innovative, informative and enjoyable experiences to gamers all over the world.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:

Implementation of visual design using knowledge of state of the art and best practice in front end web development.

Assist all developers and lead designers and implement current tasks.

Work with the Online Development team to maintain the existing portfolio of Square Enix websites.

Proven working experience in web programming

Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities

Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process

Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.

Key Stakeholders:

Online Development team: Senior Manager Web Development, Lead Front End Developer

Game teams, including marketing, PR, brand etc.

Community management team

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

Experience with React & Webpack

Responsive web design experience

Experience working with data rich, API driven website

Custom styling to match bespoke designs beyond reliance on CSS frameworks.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Desirable:

Experience with version control (Git) and common workflows. Applicant should be comfortable with regularly committing work, pull requests, peer reviews merging and rebasing.

Adherence to and promotion of code conventions best practices, documentation and styleguides.

Tracking and Analytics experience

Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Knowledge of graphics and animation options (JS, CSS, DOM, WebGL, Canvas)

Familiarity with social media APIs (Facebook/Twitter/Youtube)
