Junior Materials Artist

We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new Junior Materials Artist and join our passionate and talented Technical Art team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

Junior Material Artist role:

The Junior Materials Artist is a new role dedicated to creating high-quality textures/materials. You will proactively collaborate with our art departments to maintain consistent process and visual quality. As part of the Technical Art team, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining the material process.

This role would suit a games art graduate with experience creating high-quality textures/materials.

The Rebellion Technical Art team is responsible for creating solutions to support the art asset pipeline through creating technical art features.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality materials using the Substance Suite and Photogrammetry workflows

• Support and maintain the development of our material library
• Create filters to aid material creation
• Assist in designing, implementing and maintaining texturing workflows
• Collaborate with art teams to maintain consistent material creation processes
  and visual quality
• Anticipate and identify production challenges to leads

Requirements

• Knowledge of Substance Designer/Painter
• Good problem solving skills
• Proactive approach to identifying project needs and liaising with art teams
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop
• Exposure to Substance Alchemist
• Modelling skills in Maya/3DS Max/Blender
• Good understanding of PBR rendering and material/light interactions
• Ability to follow concept/reference and ability to work with wide range of styles

Experience in the following considered a bonus:

• Experience with Adobe Photoshop
• Exposure to Substance Alchemist
