As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Junior Legal Associate to join the team and help us in crafting the high caliber games our fans have come to expect.
Responsibilities
- Work within the legal team to assist and collaborate with senior legal counsels on diverse legal matters.
- Engage in the preparation and review of legal documents under the guidance of experienced attorneys.
- Conduct legal research across multiple jurisdictions, focusing on areas critical to the gaming industry including intellectual property, data protection, and consumer law.
- Assist in drafting and managing legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and policies relevant to software development, licensing, and user data handling.
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls, statutory regulations, and other legal formalities relevant to the gaming industry.
- Actively contribute to the enhancement of the legal team’s knowledge base by integrating industry-specific legal trends into practice.
- Serve as a supportive contact for legal inquiries within the company, facilitating effective communication and documentation flow.
Requirements
- Education: Law degree required.
- Experience: Up to 2 years of experience in a legal setting, or relevant internships; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Traits
- A strong foundational knowledge with a keen interest in fields of law that impact the gaming industry such as intellectual property (IP), data protection, and/or consumer rights.
- Ability to quickly adapt to evolving circumstances and legal frameworks.
- Detail-oriented with a strong inclination towards learning and professional growth.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Languages: Proficiency in English required; additional language skills (such as French or Spanish) are a plus.
