Junior Development Tester

Job Description

Dev Testers are testers who are embedded to a specific cell/Scrum Team within the Production. They provide support to the Production in a more intimate level.

- They have a deeper understanding of the features

o Active participation within the Team during the SCRUM meetings

o Performing maintenance testing to ensures features in development are still in working state

o Directly works with the people responsible for the feature in assisting bug investigation

o Monitoring bugs/issues and taking actions when needed

o part of the validation process for FSO/Design documents related to their features

- They build Test Cases and Test Plans

- They are the first line of defense. They validate risky/major change lists and identify issues before these change lists get into the build (Dev Testing)

• They know the basics on how to operate the same tools as the Devs and are able to provide advanced debugging support

Qualifications

Feature dev testing execution

- Able to write clear and concise bug, test reports

- Able to execute Dev Test requests and provide test results

- Able to write Test Cases with minimal feedback (will need direction on how to create Test Cases)

- Able to perform basic troubleshooting and isolation

- Find ways to motivate yourself while testing and unscripted ways to test the game

Use the Dev Test toolbox effectively

- Knows and understands how to use Dev Test reporting tools (Jira, Test Rail, Confluence, etc...)

- Knows and can utilize the basics of using Dev Testing tools (Anvil, Teabox/Swarm Buddy, Consoles etc…)

- Able to provide local technical support to playsessions/demo with guidance from senior Dev Test or dev

Identify and mitigate risks

- Be able to follow up with blockers / critical issues and raise concerns if no action is done

- Highlights issues and concerns with regards to his tasks

Collaborate constructively with the Production team

- Able to actively participate during SCRUM meetings to highlight Dev Test concerns

- Able to effectively communicate issues, test results and any important topics to his peers and main stakeholders in the Production team

- Takes initiative to ask where support is needed

Able to provide meaningful feedback to the developers and peers
