Our team at Stoic, 4-time BAFTA nominated independent video game company, is seeking a Gameplay Tester/Jr. SDET for development of our next project. You will help us take the project from preproduction phase through beta, launch, and live support over a 3+ year timeframe.
As a Gameplay Tester/Jr. SDET, you will work closely with the QA team to create and modify new and existing test plans, as well execute/automate them in an efficient manner. You will find and log issues in a bug database, and inform all appropriate parties depending on issue severity.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the QA team to create and modify new and existing test plans, as well execute them in an efficient manner
- Turn Test plans into Automation where possible
- Find and log issues in a bug database, and inform all appropriate parties depending on issue severity
- Validating games for spellings, ratings, technical requirements and legal issues
- Perform ad-hoc testing procedures to find bugs and gameplay issues
- Regress and close bugs upon completion
- Be able to “own” certain areas of testing, upholding responsibility therein
- Work with other disciplines to achieve shared goals
- Experience following test plans, providing updates to test cases when appropriate
Requirements:
- Experience writing Test Automation in at least one of the following. (C#, C/C++, JavaScript and Python)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to reliably reply to emails, Slack Messages, and zoom calls
- Experience with console videogames
- Experience with Beta Testing a plus
- Strong attention to detail, and creative problem solving
- Demonstrated understanding of black box/functional testing
- Experience with bug tracking systems (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Able to work independently with instruction, as well as in a small team setting
- Able to adapt to new tasks as they are discovered and handed off
