Jr. SDET

Our team at Stoic, 4-time BAFTA nominated independent video game company, is seeking a Gameplay Tester/Jr. SDET for development of our next project. You will help us take the project from preproduction phase through beta, launch, and live support over a 3+ year timeframe.

As a Gameplay Tester/Jr. SDET, you will work closely with the QA team to create and modify new and existing test plans, as well execute/automate them in an efficient manner. You will find and log issues in a bug database, and inform all appropriate parties depending on issue severity.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the QA team to create and modify new and existing test plans, as well execute them in an efficient manner
• Turn Test plans into Automation where possible
• Find and log issues in a bug database, and inform all appropriate parties depending on issue severity
• Validating games for spellings, ratings, technical requirements and legal issues
• Perform ad-hoc testing procedures to find bugs and gameplay issues
• Regress and close bugs upon completion
• Be able to “own” certain areas of testing, upholding responsibility therein
• Work with other disciplines to achieve shared goals
• Experience following test plans, providing updates to test cases when appropriate

Requirements:

• Experience writing Test Automation in at least one of the following. (C#, C/C++, JavaScript and Python)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to reliably reply to emails, Slack Messages, and zoom calls
• Experience with console videogames
• Experience with Beta Testing a plus
• Strong attention to detail, and creative problem solving
• Demonstrated understanding of black box/functional testing
• Experience with bug tracking systems (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Able to work independently with instruction, as well as in a small team setting
• Able to adapt to new tasks as they are discovered and handed off
