Jr. Java Developer **Will help you relocate to Austin

CatFace is a YouTube entertainment company, home to a family of channels that have over 13 million subscribers and averages hundreds of million views per month. Our goal is to entertain our YouTube audience with fun, light-hearted narratives, and entertaining content for both children and young adults. A vital component of our business is having interesting mods and assets to intrigue and engage our audience.

CatFace is looking for a Jr. Java developer who is interested in contributing in the creation of Minecraft mods, tools, and resources for use in videos that will reach millions of viewers. This position is ideal for an individual looking for fulltime development work in a creative, collaborative environment working on a variety of small and larger projects. Candidates must be motivated to work effectively in a fast paced Youtube environment while working closely with other production team members. Candidates must also be willing to make changes based on the creative direction of a given project and the shifting Youtube landscape. Our ideal candidate will possess the drive and energy to learn new tools and maintain existing code all while bringing their experience to the production pipeline.

Requirements:

• Must be based in the Austin TX area or willing to relocate within 1 month of being hired (relocation assistance provided)
• Extensive knowledge of the Minecraft platform
• 1-2 years of java development
• Passion for YouTube Content, desire to understand how it works, and the ability to absorb and learn to improve videos, brainstorm ideas and expand on brand’s vision in successful ways.
• Ability to work both independently and with small teams.
• Ability to handle situations gracefully under pressure.
• Great and timely communication skills.
• Strong desire to learn and improve coding skills
• A natural problem solver
• Willingness to work in an office environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related degree
• Experience with the Minecraft Forge and Minecraft Fabric moding platforms
• Experience updating or changing existing Minecraft mods
• Experience with the Paper/Spigot/Bukkit plugin platform
• Adept in using Adobe Photoshop

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 60-65k
