Information Security Engineer

Overview

This position will be a key member of the Information Technology Security team and work closely with various teams to impalement security controls and assist in vulnerability remediation. Candidates should have experience developing technical solutions on-prem and in cloud environments. Strong networking and operating system experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support in developing and execution of the company’s overall Information Security strategy.
• Develop technical solutions and select and implement new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
• Evaluate, compare and test new security solutions.
• Support and coordinate risk assessments and security evaluations for vendors deploying solutions either on premise or in the cloud.
• Create documentation of new and current Information Security processes and procedures.
• Perform engineering, tuning, and provide guidance of network security controls, including IDS/IPS, Web Filtering, Cloud Technologies, Email/Spam, and Firewalls.
• Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for mobile and endpoint hardening, cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Define system security requirements, identify vulnerabilities, and coordinate remediation plans.
• Plan, design (if applicable), and implement vulnerability remediation/ mitigation efforts.
• Provide guidance and engineering assistance to junior security engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an information security role.
• Experience implementing and supporting security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of network & infrastructure security architecture.
• Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge and experience of cloud infrastructure security; Azure, AWS, GCP.

Preferred Skills

• Industry certifications preferred: Security+, GSEC, GCIH, GPEN, GCED, CEH, CISSP
• Understanding of Identity and Access Management controls.
• Strong passion for information security.
• Experience with SIEM, Email security gateways, EDR solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS platforms.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
