Incubation Associate Gameplay Engineer

As a Gameplay Engineer at Bungie, you will work closely with designers to build, improve, and bring innovation to our gameplay-design toolkit. You will collaborate closely with a cross-disciplinary team to create the features that enable our team to craft immersive player experiences. With the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, most positions at Bungie are expected to onboard and work from home for a significant portion of 2021. In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in WA & CA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in WA & CA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA & WA will need to establish WA state residency within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain clear and inspectable C++ code
- Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team
- Improve craft via practice, code reviews, and mentorship
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of core programming principles
- Proficiency with a compiled programming language such as C#, C++, or Java
- Strong math background (trigonometry, linear algebra, calculus, etc...)
- Effectively communicate with teammates to jointly design, write and review code, by driving team consensus and alignment
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Experience working on a programming project using gameplay or gameplay-adjacent technology. Building a simple game engine, game project using middleware, social-science simulation, robotics controller programming, audio processing software
