IT OPERATIONS ENGINEER

The IT and Security team build, monitor, and maintain our corporate and production infrastructure that our fans need to play our games. We are experts in systems, networks, cloud technology, and security. Our teams maintain the enterprise and development technology stacks that run our company, and support our gamers. The Tech team operates globally to ensure a consistent and exceptional experience for the entirety of the 2K ecosystem.
What We Need:
We are looking for an IT Operations Engineer to help support our growing list of projects. This role will be challenged with a variety of responsibilities covering Automation, Tooling, Systems, Datacenters, Networks, and Security. The ideal candidate will be adaptable with a passion for technology and learning new things. Your team will work with product managers, game designers, producers, and more to understand needs and make them a reality. This is a team that you will grow your skillset with while supporting top tier games.
What You Will Do:
Assist with day to day administration of both corporate and production systems
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues from both internal and external customers
- Create basic scripts enabling the automation of standard tasks
- Assist the network staff in the support of the appliances that make up the 2K network
- Work directly with the security team to support their efforts
- Work within a datacenter environment wiring and racking devices
- Maintain a strong collaborative work relationship with fellow engineers and team members

- Understands the trade-offs of large scale administration
- Ability to follow basic troubleshooting runbooks. Has a basic appreciation of breaking down problems. Knows when to ask for help.
- Comprehends the importance of production systems. Knows the value of automation. Detail oriented.
- Ability to write scripts with a knowledge of one or two scripting languages. Can also read Python and other languages. Grasps the need for code management.
- Solid user skills in one operating system. Basic administration experience in the same.
- Generic understanding of LAN, networking protocols and services
- Recognizes the need for security. Grasps the concept of a firewall.
- Can create SQL queries and install a basic database. Understands replication concepts.
- Can speak intelligently about data center standards and electrical signaling
- B.S. degree or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Can work with minimal direction
