As the Head of Mobile Acquisition and Retention, you will lead the mobile player acquisition and retention efforts across the expanding Blizzard mobile portfolio. This is a high-profile role that is central to expanding Blizzard’s IP to current and new players. Blizzard has storied franchises, and a highly engaged player base which is eager for new mobile expressions of our games. These mobile games further Blizzard’s mission of bringing the world together through the most epic entertainment experiences.
The right person for this role will leverage an extensive background in mobile performance marketing for well-established IP’s. This individual will also have a keen understanding of the nuances of organic player acquisition and its interplay with paid media and other tactics.
You will be working across multiple disciplines and business units, including the ABK centralized performance team, and knowing how integrate across these capabilities will be central to your success. This leader must have a strong background working with development teams, in-house growth teams, and distilling complex topics for executive leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop holistic platform and channel strategies to ensure we deliver the most profitable & scalable acquisition GTM approach
- Work holistically with individual game Business Performance Units (BPU) to continually monitor and adjust player inflow, retention, and outflow. Adjustments could include game modifications, player cohort targets, creative and messaging adjustments, etc.
- Align business goals with in-house buying and CRM operations to drive desired revenue targets and ROAS
- Ensure Regional teams and local nuances are accounted for in driving UA
- Work closely with growth strategy team to ensure audiences are optimized and managed appropriately across the entire portfolio and IP’s (e.g. IP with mobile, console, and PC offerings)
- Partner to manage key operational tasks that enable Activation & Analytics teams to successfully launch and optimize campaigns for Alpha/Beta phases, worldwide launch and ongoing live-ops
- Coordinate and rationalize global budgets based on in-market performance KPI targets
- Review and help adjust CRM efforts (in game and out of game) to improve player retention and game enjoyment
- Partner with BPU and Activation teams to develop soft launch strategies (e.g., markets, timing) and WW launch forecasts
- Communicate plans/strategies, performance highlights, and challenges/team needs to executives and key stakeholders
- Drive testing, measurement, and innovation roadmap in collaboration with Activation and Analytics teams
- Drive ABK future vision state of what a ‘1 publisher of record’ entity could bring in terms of value creation across the group
What you’ll bring
- 15+ years of performance marketing experience in technology, entertainment, gaming or related fields with a focus on mobile in-app marketing
- Experienced people manager of cross-functional teams, as well as adept at managing intra-org relationships to set teams up for success
- Hands-on experience with digital marketing at scale; across multiple brands or across a broad functional scope with millions of customers/subscribers
- Prior experience with nine figure budget and operational management
- Expert in nurturing collaborative relationships, reducing churn, improving engagement, and monetization
- Proven track record of delivering business growth via user acquisition, reengagement and winback strategies
- Analytical thinker with a depth of knowledge in digital analytics, campaign tracking and ROI metrics. Evaluation of metrics to influence strategic marketing decisions
- Strong organizational skills, ability to be self-directed and work independently, and demonstrated ability overcoming obstacles to deliver on deadline is a must
- A commercial mindset: interest in measurement and aptitude with numbers is required
- An unquenchable thirst for learning, humility, and love for team building to drive results
