The Role
We are excited to announce we are continuing to grow our diverse teams. Gala is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Food Safety Research to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching food laws and the safest sources of food globally and procuring food for our company's offices. As the head of food safety research, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the quality of the food consumed by our team.

Responsibilities
- Food Safety Research: Conduct extensive research on food laws, food safety guidelines, and the latest developments in food safety standards across multiple countries.
- Global Food Sources: Identify and assess the safest and most reliable food sources for our company's offices, considering factors such as food quality, safety standards, and sustainability practices.
- Food Procurement: Purchase and procure food for our company's offices, ensuring that all food items are of the highest quality and adhere to strict food safety standards.
- Supplier Management: We will build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international food suppliers to ensure a steady supply of safe, high-quality food for our company's offices.
- Food Safety Policy Development: Develop and implement food safety policies and procedures for our company's offices, ensuring that all employees are trained and aware of the importance of food safety and how to maintain it.
- Incident Management: Respond to food safety incidents or concerns promptly and effectively, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Continuous Improvement: We stay up-to-date with the latest developments in food safety research, industry standards, and best practices and continually improve our food safety policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of safety and quality for our employees.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in food safety research, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment such as a food manufacturing or service organization
- In-depth knowledge of food safety laws, guidelines, and standards, including familiarity with HACCP and ISO 22000
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data analysis tools to evaluate food safety risks and opportunities
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with food suppliers, vendors, and regulatory bodies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- A strong understanding of the food industry, supply chain management, and the broader ecosystem
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Public Health, or a related field is preferred
- Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator
