Summary:
Our Marketing team is looking for a Head of Content who will build large content hubs from the ground up, including pre-K and early grade school educational content. This role will own the site content strategy, be responsible for building an in-house or freelance team as needed and be responsible for results. Requires a sharp understanding of how to analyze the performance of content strategy and a dedication to content quality that meets users’ intent.
Our goal is for each piece of content to be the best content of its type on the internet. This role will be responsible for defending content quality while managing the realities of resources and production schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute a digital content strategy from the ground up
- Establish style guides and processes for efficient quality content production
- Identify opportunities for new storytelling based on SEO and other data
- Measure the impact of content campaigns and analyze effectiveness to maximize results
- Manage and lead any internal content employees or 3rd party partners such as freelance writers and editors and other creatives to create compelling and differentiated content
- Work with internal stakeholders to manage the content experience to ensure alignment with brand goals
- Develop regular (incrementally) testing strategies to ensure content experiences are optimized to meet customer needs
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of content management
- 3+ years of experience managing employees and/or freelance writers
- Previous experience with B2C content creation (education/curriculum writing experience a plus)
- Portfolio with writing samples
- Ability to create and refine a content strategy.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple areas of responsibility simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and highly driven
- Strong analytical skills to refine and optimize content performance and focus on results
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in content marketing
- Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS
- Experience building large-scale content strategies from the ground up
