Rovio’s Comms & PR team drives creative initiatives that expose company products and projects to both internal and external audiences. Most importantly, this work shines the spotlight on the best in class people behind the company’s success. Working with Rovio’s deep bench of talented professionals, the Comms & PR team builds ongoing media coverage while creating engaging content and events to promote Rovio’s thought leadership across multiple disciplines. They also coordinate with internal teams (Brand Marketing, Games, Talent Acquisition) to maximize brand messaging consistency in all PR efforts.
Rovio is looking for a top class Communications and PR leader who will own the strategy for our internal and external communications, while partnering with key stakeholders. This pragmatic, collaborative individual should possess both a deep-rooted passion for video games, while having an impressive track record for leading results-driven communications strategies in fast-paced, creative-minded companies. Championing cross-functional relationships with teams such as Brand Marketing and Corporate Communications/IR, the individual is adept at gaining consensus among executives and peers, with the goal to communicate Rovio’s exciting growth plans across multiple audience touchpoints.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Rovio’s internal and external communications strategy covering multiple audiences -- players, partners, media/influencers, and both future + existing employees.
- Drive the strategic roadmap and voice for CEO and senior management communications, including media interviews, thought leadership content, and internal communications.
- Create innovative PR rollouts to drive earned coverage for Rovio’s new and live games, as well as brand partnerships, licensing initiatives and other key strategic focus areas.
- Provide first class support for executive level internal announcements and ensure managers are equipped to reinforce key messages shared.
- Partner with Rovio’s Talent Acquisition team to drive an employer brand communications program showcasing the company as a world-class workplace and team of thought leaders.
Who we think will do great in this role has:
- Extensive communications/PR management experience in organizations of over 250 employees, preferably in a publicly listed company.
- Native-level English speaker/writer, dynamic public speaker with high attention to both oral and written detail.
- Experience acting as a company ambassador to multiple audiences such as media, partners and industry bodies.
- Track record of leading results-driven communications strategies in fast-paced, creative-minded companies.
We’d love if you have some of these:
- Detailed understanding of the games industry, especially mobile games.
- Clear passion for video games and depth of understanding of different genres and their respective audiences.
- Experience with crisis communications and change management processes, including being able to detail precise learnings taken from past cases.
- A pragmatic and proactive nature, ensuring Rovio’s communications practices always contribute directly to its business objectives.
- A balanced perspective, never forgetting that while making video games is a serious business, it’s an immensely fun and creative industry that doesn’t take itself too seriously :)
