HR Director

As our new HR Director, you will join an experienced team in supporting our game developers create world class gaming experiences. This role is instrumental in shaping our dynamic company, ensuring that our talented team continues to thrive and push the boundaries of gaming.
Responsibilities:
Partnering and Employee Engagement:
- Serve as a strategic partner to leadership and department heads, understanding their unique needs and aligning HR strategies to support business objectives.
- Address employee relations matters, applying a deep understanding of the gaming industry's unique dynamics.
- Work closely with game development teams to understand staffing needs, project timelines, and skill requirements.
- Align HR strategies with production goals to ensure optimal team composition and efficiency.
- Collaborate with department heads and finance to develop and execute budget. Operate plans and headcount plans that align with the company's strategic objectives and budgetary constraints.
Performance Management
- Conduct regular performance management initiatives that align with the fast-paced and dynamic nature of the video game industry.
- Work with managers to address performance issues and support professional development plans, recognizing the specialized skills and expertise required for AAA game development.
HR Policy and Compliance:
- Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes specific to the gaming industry and ensure company policies align with industry standards.
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies that resonate with the creative and collaborative spirit of the gaming community.
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
- Spearhead the recruitment process, collaborating closely with hiring managers to identify and attract top-tier talent with a talent for developing game and cutting-edge technology.
- Develop creative recruitment strategies tailored to the unique needs of the video game industry.
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires seamlessly integrate into our culture.
Benefits Administration:
- Implement and optimize HR processes and systems to enhance overall efficiency.
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, employee records management, and payroll coordination.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, recognizing the unique needs and preferences of individuals within the gaming sector.
- Collaborate with external vendors to provide benefits that reflect the preferences and lifestyles of gaming professionals.
Reporting:
- Develop and deliver HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
- Analyse trends and provide insights to leadership, contributing to data-driven strategies for talent management and organizational development.
Essential Requirements:
- 10+ years in a HR leadership role.
- Experience working in a creative industry.
- Deep understanding of HR best practices for a large company (300+ people).
- A real interest in gaming or creative arts, and the ability to connect with individuals who share a love for the gaming world.
Ideal experience:
- Experience leading HR for a large video game developer.
- A masters degree or CIPD equivalent.
- Deep knowledge of UK or French employment law.
