Tangent Animation is looking for an HR Coordinator/Generalist who will provide day-to-day HR support to the Artists, supporting career development and will be the point of contact for any artist issues. This role will also drive the entire Recruitment process and Initiate new Recruitment strategies to hire best talent in the industry.
This role will work with Sups/Leads/Production to create a positive environment that promotes our company culture and growth opportunities for employees and help us retain and grow our talent.
JOB DUTIES:
- Foster and support a positive, collaborative and productive culture within the department; take steps to ensure that Artists feel connected to the studio
- Flags areas of risk for artist retention and be in constant touch with artists on the floor
- Establish and maintain an appropriate level of communication with all crew members to establish confidence and trust
- Develops and maintains relationships with Hiring Managers to define and manage hiring expectations. Serves as liaison between artists, production and studio management
- Partners with Dept Leads to identify areas of growth for artists/production. Supports ongoing artist assessments and helps create feedback mechanisms and development plans
- Manage the full cycle recruitment process, ensuring quick turnaround and a positive and professional experience for all applicants. Handles initial screening of portfolios and demo reels and facilitates follow up reviews with hiring teams
- Schedules and participate in the interviews along with the Hiring manager
- Actively source candidates utilizing social networking, job boards, referrals, and our internal network, building effective networks and relationships to maintain a strong candidate pool
- Develops and maintains a database of candidates considered for each position, including feedback and candidate viability. Write and update job postings for all positions.
- Take ownership of the existing online applicant portal. Develop best practices and train people in those where necessary
- Responsible for all the recruitment/industry events local and international, complete coordination with organizers, internal stakeholders and attends all these events.
- Onboarding and exit formalities, contract management and day-to-day HR support
- Partner with HR on ongoing projects and initiatives as and when required
- Design and implement Internship program to hire interns/co-ops and tie up with educational institutions across Canada and internationally to source emerging talent
Requirements
- The ability to effectively communicate, influence, and partner with production management, creative talent, and studio management
- Excellence in problem solving and balancing quick turnaround
- Strong time management, organization skills and solid follow-through required
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic/ever-changing environment is required.
- Must be willing to travel for Recruitment events if needed.
- 3+ years in a similar role managing recruitment/artist management experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone
- Must have the ability to prioritize, organize and schedule work effectively
- MS Office skills and experience working on a Recruiting platform, Workable is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of sourcing channels.
- Excellent networking skills and drive
- Previous experience successfully working with multiple stakeholders and balancing differing priorities
