Role Overview:
The PlayStation Store and Services Marketing team are on a mission to become the engine of profitable growth that future-proofs the PlayStation business for years to come. We will achieve this by building demand for the PlayStation Store, delivering targeted marketing campaigns throughout the lifecycle of Players’ engagement with our console.
The Group Manager, Global Digital Games Marketing is responsible for the design and development of the brand positioning, strategic plan and marketing budget for the multi-billion-dollar PlayStation Store business.
Reporting to the Snr. Director, Global Marketing for Store and Services this key role is accountable for developing a high-performing team to lead marketing strategy and plans for all key titles, promotions and lifecycle campaigns on the PlayStation Store across console, mobile and web. The Digital Games team will become industry-leading experts in audience strategy, and global toolkit development across strategically critical, future-facing products.
What you’ll be doing:
The Global Digital Games Marketing team will work across seven key areas of activity:
- Own the annual strategic plan and budget: Global target audience definition, strategic planning and budget allocation by region/territory, including quarterly budget re-allocation reviews. Tracking and reporting global marketing KPIs. Accountable for action plans to deliver Engagement, Revenue, Visitors and ARPPU targets.
- Own the global campaign roadmap: Determining the phasing, prioritisation and investment strategy across regions for the key building blocks in the annual strategic plan for the PlayStation Store (i.e. Key Titles, Promotions, Brand campaigns).
- PlayStation Store Brand, and Key Campaign development: Work with global agencies to design PlayStation Store brand positioning and campaigns, including owning the briefing and input to global SVT research. Develop Global toolkits with in-house creative teams for all Key Titles, Promotions and Live Services campaigns
- Lead Marketing input to design of future Store propositions: Partner with Commercial leads to optimise global Store propositions. Providing consumer insight to input on pricing, targeting, insight, consumer value proposition decisions. Partnering with CRO and Product teams to develop best-in-class UX, focusing on mid-long term 18mth – 5yr time frame.
- Design and deliver engagement and retention initiatives: in collaboration with the Commercial team, optimise customer engagement with Store to hit annual conversion and ARPU goals. Develop innovative new ways of marketing the PlayStation Store beyond paid media (e.g. Affiliate, Influencer, E-Sports).
- Develop Customer Lifetime Value communications strategies: Partnering with the S&S Marketing Delivery team in the cross-functional development of customer journeys through paid/owned/earned channels, across the full lifecycle of Store engagement. Develop action plans to improve campaign delivery and customer experience.
- Lead ‘Digital at Retail’ strategy and toolkit development: Accountable for consumer target definition and development of global toolkits to build PlayStation Store retail presence and revenue.
The Group Manager will be responsible for leading the team and building new Global ways of working. The successful candidate will be; an experienced leader, comfortable with balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving and complex environment; have deep industry, strategic planning and brand proposition expertise; have experience in an eCommerce-focussed role.
What we are looking for:
Education:
- Required: Educated to degree level
- Preferred: Brand Design and proposition development experience for an e-Commerce business
Experience:
- Proven senior years of marketing experience in the entertainment industry (or within brand-focussed subscription/eCommerce businesses)
- Experience designing and delivering successful acquisition, retention and conversion plans for an e-Commerce business
- Experience in working in global / regional roles at a senior level
- Proven expertise in marketing strategy and proposition development
- Proven people manager
- Adobe Analytics/Salesforce familiarity preferred
