Who we're looking for:
Naughty Dog is looking for a resourceful, collaborative, detail-oriented, graphic designer/illustrator to join our art graphics team. Their primary role will be to help further push the in game world building by, creating logos, branding, patterns, illustrations, both independently and as part of a team. The graphic designer/illustrator must be nimble, humble, organized, and dedicated, as game development is a iterative process and this really is a team sport. In addition, this person must be prepared to collaborate with all different creative types.
What you’ll do:
- Design and collaborate on fictional identities, symbols, illustrations, textile designs, patterns, graphics, and typography, for in game use
- Collaborate on asset creation with outsource vendors
- Bring creative solutions to the table with research to back up your ideas
- Capturing the look and feel of existing real world graphic design and re-imagining them to fit the need for the game
- Able to communicate and work iteratively with the art directors, and various other departments.
- Work with the Sony legal Team on approval process and iterations
What skills you will use:
- 2-5 years of design experience in an agency environment or the gaming/entertainment industry
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design, layout, and illustration software
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills; cultural sensitivity to working with a diverse, international team
- Open and collaborative approach to their work; comfort in a fast-paced organization navigating ambiguity and change
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and strong critical thinking skills
- Be flexible with new ideas, being open to direction, and last-minute changes and challenges
- High quality design aesthetic, versatility in visual style, and awareness of design trends and innovation
- Experience designing across a wide variety of mediums and formats
- Understanding of design theory, including layout, color, typography, hierarchy, as well as current design trends.
- Ability to follow design instructions, work within corporate templates, and implement style guides
- Self-motivated, deadline cognizant and able to articulate their ideas with thoughtful research
- Illustration and drafting skills
Bonus Skills:
- UI/Monetization Experience in Games
- Graphic design education with emphasis in typography
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Familiarity with working within game engines and related development tools and software, such as Sketchup, Zbrush, Substance, Maya, 3DS Max, etc.
- Experience working with Outsourcing Studios
As a part of the Naughty Dog application process, candidates will be expected to provide a portfolio of their work and may be asked to complete an art test.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$66,600 — $99,800 USD
