Certain Affinity brings an exceptionally talented group together to form the largest independent developer in Austin, Texas and opened a second studio in Toronto, Canada last year. Our Toronto studio will collaborate with our Austin location, and together we’ll be co-developing AAA FPS games and creating our own compelling new IP.
As a Graphic Designer, you will play a key role in concepting and creating marketing and promotional materials for Certain Affinity and help create internal company digital and print assets. The position entails designing marketing materials and brand identity elements, including but not limited to events, logos, web pages, swag, and other digital and print materials in support of all of our various teams and projects. You will assist in developing short- and long-term marketing plans and strategies and work with our social media team to create digital content.
Responsibilities
- Create marketing materials and other collaterals to reflect company products and brand
- Including presentations, business pitches, RFPs, company promotional materials, websites, demos, and more
- Oversee layout, concept, design, and production of marketing materials
- Articulate and present design concepts for feedback, buy-in, and selection
- Lead creative concept development and turn around and create final print and web-ready assets
- Effectively support the stylistic and artistic direction of projects based on brand standards
- Work with the marketing team to plan, develop, and implement content to support overall brand strategies
- Translate brand style guide into designs that are clear, compelling, and consistent, optimizing the brand experience
- Consult with development and design teams about market requirements and product features
- Support the senior brand and marketing manager in the design and execution of graphical assets
- As needed, work with external marketing resources, including agencies and freelancers
- Oversee marketing production of various graphic design and illustration projects, including planning, management, and execution
- Work with the marketing team to understand and support organizational priorities
- Act as a CA liaison with other external agencies and resource vendors
Requirements
- 5+ years of digital and/or graphic design experience in interactive, agency creative, and graphic design shops
- Fluency in current graphic design practices and production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Prior professional experience in creative marketing, advertising, and technology trends
- Strong creative portfolio showcasing your skills and style
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally, visually, and in writing
- Strong conceptual, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with a wide variety of functional teams
- Familiarity with social media marketing for game companies
- Highly responsible, collaborative, and self-motivated
- Excellent relationship management, organizational skills, and creative judgment
- A desire to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
Extra Credit
- Experience working at a game development company
- Web and game UI experience a bonus
- Experience with HTML / CSS and current web building blocks including WordPress
- Video production and editing
- Ability to create memes
