We are continuing to grow our team to support our existing portfolio and an exciting and ambitious future roadmap, which includes the development of both own-IP titles and licensed-IP titles. Our IP-license partners include Universal (Jurassic World), Formula 1 and Games Workshop (Warhammer).We are also growing our team to continue the expansion of Frontier Foundry, our publishing label for games developed by carefully selected partner studios.
We have a modern spacious studio located on the Cambridge Science Park in the heart of the Cambridge tech hub. For those who wish to relocate to the Cambridge area and work either entirely in the studio or flexibly between the studio and home, we can provide generous financial and practical support to facilitate your move. We are also able to offer remote working for those who would prefer to work almost exclusively from home or who are unable to relocate. As a Graduate Audio Designer , you are taking your first steps in a rich world of creative collaboration. What you lack in experience you make up for in enthusiasm and creative expression.
You will join the Audio Design Services team (ADS) and work with your peers on established projects, with proven pipelines, direction and tools that help you make the most of your sound design skills.
As you learn and grow you will be exposed to multiple projects at Frontier Developments and given more ownership and to take on creative challenges.

We are looking for candidates who:
- Are eligible to work in the UK.
- Are willing to move to the Cambridge area for an in-house position.
- Have experience creating sound effects using custom recordings and library material to generate apt and original audio.
- Demonstrate excellent sourcing, editorial and track laying potential.
- Possess ability and familiarity with a DAW (we use Reaper) and the integrated use of plug-ins.
- Implementation (we use Wwise) will form part of your training - a keen interest will go a long way.
- Are eager to learn from peers and take feedback in a constructive way.
- Appreciate detail
- Are storytellers.
- For this role we are ideally looking for someone who can work on a hybrid or on-site basis.

What work in this role typically looks like:
- We generally start the week with a catch up - some of us are hybrid and will join remotely while others will be in the office.
- You hear what everyone works on, and will look for opportunities to offer constructive feedback when it is appropriate.
- A lead and project producer will hep to assign tasks and plan work - you can spend most of your time creating and learning!
- You can work with the lead, seniors and members of the Audio Design Services group to define technical resources needed to implement audio.
- You can make use of the recording facilities and Foley room on site or use extensive libraries.
- Use Reaper to create sound effects and reach out to your colleagues for continuous feedback.
- Improve your implementation skills with the help of colleges or technical sound designers.
- Build the latest stable version of the game, which has been tested on our build automation servers.
- Work in the game and use debug, test-worlds and development tools to check implementations.
- Work with people from other disciplines to help define the work.
- Work closely with your peers in the ADS team.
- Join show and tell stand-ups in which you get a chance to give and receive constructive critique.
- Weekly audio design development and learning meetings, in which we discuss and show breakdowns of our work.
- Go out together and enjoy the lovely weather!
Levelling the playing field:
There is a barrier to entry in game audio and access to plug-ins and libraries can make a huge difference.
To give everyone the same chance, we ask all applicants to work on a short test, working with the same provided library and plugins, so that we can test your ability to tell a story in sound.
