Government Relations Manager - ANZ/APACSummary
The Government Relations Manager assists the GM of Government Relations and the global GR team in executing Aristocrat’s GR strategy across ANZ/APAC. The role actively monitors the external environment and informs our position on regulation, legislation and policy in areas that could impact Aristocrat’s business, either from an operational or strategic perspective. The role supports the execution of the business’ regional growth strategies and priorities, including by the gathering of intelligence and provision of accurate and timely advice on matters relevant to Aristocrat’s business, reputation and valuesWhat you'll do
Reporting to and assisting the GM Government and Industry Relations to:
- Monitor legislation, regulation, policy developments, political and public discourse for matters that could impact our business or our customers in the region.
- Conduct timely analysis of relevant issues and accurately inform/advise the GR team.
- Work with other Aristocrat stakeholders (including in Corporate Affairs, Responsible Gameplay, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance teams) to support advocacy and prepare required materials including leave behinds and briefing documents.
- Contribute to the preparation of GR communications internally and externally which may include newsletters and reports for example, contributing as needed to Annual Reports and Corporate Social Responsibility disclosures.
- Become a reliable liaison with business units and key stakeholders seeking government relations insight.
- Contribute to response strategies, report on progress and developments, with the support of GR resources in other geographies.
- Help maintain the GR information and knowledge centre.
- Assist the global GR team in the execution of Aristocrat’s Strategic Plan, as part of the global GR function.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant government relations/policy experience.
- Understanding of legislative, policy development and government processes.
- Experience gathering information from different sources and compiling it into cohesive reporting and advice.
- Experience preparing written materials including briefing papers, research and policy documents, official correspondence, or coursework.
- Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, presentations, and other communications.
- Experience working with partners/government agencies.
