Global Head of VALORANT Esports

The Global Esports team is focused on delivering amazing fan experiences through our global esports events and regional competitions. Our professional, semi-professional, and grassroots competitive tiers across all Riot games involve thousands of players and hundreds of organizations competing every week.

As our Global Head of VALORANT Esports, you will architect and execute the vision, strategy, and calendar for the VALORANT esports franchise. You will also interface with sponsors, media partners, team owners and other third party stakeholders in the VALORANT esports ecosystem. You will be a nexus of collaboration between global esports, regional teams, publishing and game teams. Reporting to the Head of Global Esports, you will help shape the future of VALORANT esports, driving ongoing growth in fandom and leading the ecosystem to financial sustainability.

Responsibilities:

• Own VALORANT Esports product strategy, including setting vision and strategic priorities, establishing the roadmap, and developing growth plans
• Own the holistic VALORANT Esports fan experience, and act as a product leader, and partner to publishing teams to ensure the creative vision is delivered
• This includes viewer experience, broadcast development, live event experience, and fan engagement
• Key partner for all major programs of the sport
• Ensuring the Global VALORANT Esports strategy is executed and amplified at the local level.
• Product lead for global VALORANT tournaments and responsible for execution of global events in partnership with functional leadership
• Collaborate with global athletic ops leadership for the VALORANT esports ecosystem (e.g., calendar, rules) and designs franchise model for leagues
• Set vision for amateur play for the game and develop grassroots player engagement strategy
• Bridge the gap between Esports and the VALORANT Game team by being a partner and advocate
• Monitor the P&L and health of the VALORANT esports ecosystem
• Approve regional monetization targets / budgets recommended by Commercial and Regional teams
• Establish and track metrics including viewership (e.g., AMA / PCU), audience satisfaction (NPS), and engagement

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience developing global strategies in esports, entertainment or traditional sports industries in collaboration with diverse partners
• Extensive understanding of FPS and tactical shooter games and esports ecosystems.
• Experience managing complex, matrixed teams; including experience managing distributed teams; Experience developing teams and coaching employees
• Holistic product P+L ownership/management experience
• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field

• MBA or other relevant advanced degree
