We are looking for someone like you to become our next gameplay programmer and join our passionate and talented Code Team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

Gameplay Programmer role:

Gameplay Programmers at Rebellion are dedicated to writing and testing gameplay code as well as modifying and optimising existing code. You will be working on our in house engine Asura, where you’ll be working in collaboration with our Tech Team to make improvements, fix bugs and maintain stability as well as working alongside the wider development teams to solve issues and guide implementation. As part of the Code Team team, you will play a key role in using video game industry best practice to deliver games in line with project schedules and key milestones.

This role would suit a programmer with a year or two of industry experience and a passion for playing games, in particular, Rebellion games.

The Rebellion Code Team use our in-house engine Asura to create AAA games and amazing experiences for our players. And because we own the IP and we're totally independent, we’ve got complete creative control over our projects.

Requirements

You are expected to have a knowledge and understanding of the following areas:

• C++ and other relevant programming languages
• IDE and debugging techniques
• Source control and code review software
• Software architecture and design principles
• Common data structures and algorithms
• Maths (including 3D geometric techniques)
• Video game industry best practices
• Console development
• Project scheduling, milestones, and deliverables
• Game asset pipeline
