Gameplay Programmer

We are Rayscape Games.. An indie studio based in the UK creating games for the Oculus Quest 2 and PCVR Platforms.

Our upcoming game needs a gameplay developer to help in implementing interesting and challenging game mechanics. We are looking for someone skilled to cast a ray of light into these new features. You will implement and develop core features that enable the magic and myth of this forgotten land to shine, and provide players with intriguing puzzles to solve along the way.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating player interaction moments that create the will to investigate and explore each level.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to work for an exciting, young indie studio already in game development.

About The Role:

• Develop core gameplay features based of game design documents
• Prototype features for quick validation and revision
• Work together with Art & Design teams
• Gameplay systems optimization and bug fixing
• Excellent code writing skills, that translate into robust and easy to maintain
• Compile feedback, review and translate it into improvements
• Maintain regular internal communication with other developers and senior management

Requirements:

• Passion for playing and making video games
• Experience with Unreal Engine game development
• Experience with Blueprints
• Experience with VR development
• Good C++ skills, accompanied by the ability to construct proper architectural mechanics
• Good math skills, with strong problem solving sense and capacity
• Comfortable in adding/refactoring an existing code framework
• At least 2+ year experience in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or other relevant qualification
• A strong self-driven work ethic
• Experience with game industry software tools like JIRA, Miro, Git, Perforce,
• management software processes (Agile, Game Design)
