Position Intro
Sansar provides a canvas for anyone to create any virtual world they can imagine, as well as experience that world in virtual reality with people across the world. Linden Lab is looking for great software engineers to join the Sansar team in making Sansar the best virtual world platform out there!
You name it, we’re doing it; building an MMO engine and the infrastructure to support a system for optimizing user-generated content. Do you like variety in your work? Primary Functions
This is a cross-team programming position where you will be uniquely placed to learn and participate in many different aspects of game and engine development from Networking to Tools to AI, Physics, Scripting, and UI.
Responsibilities
- Develop C++ that is clean, easy to use, free of bugs and reliable.
- Collaborate with engineers and artists in an iterative, fun, agile development environment with a focus on shipping code and achieving practical results for our users.
- Receive and integrate feedback from the community into current and future functionality
- Be proactive; identify technical and developmental risks and obstacles, and help generate solutions.

- Solid C++ and 3D Math Skills
- Knowledge and passion for game engine technology including some proficiency in Tools, Networking, Audio, Physics, Scripting, UI, or AI.
- Results-oriented focus with an eye for prioritization of user-experience and with the ability to recognize when and where trade-offs need to be made.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, portable code.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work efficiently, independently, and deliver features on-time.
- Ability to collaborate, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a professional software engineer
Extra credit
- MMO development experience
- Shipped a game
- Experience with game engines (e.g. Unreal, Unity)
- Experience with real-time programming
- Experience with 3D modeling tools such as Maya and Blender
- Experience with C#
