Gameplay Developer

PerBlue is looking for a creative and flexible Gameplay Developer to join our team of experienced game developers. We’re a growing independent studio whose free-to-play midcore mobile games have been played by millions of people around the world, including the award-winning game Disney Heroes: Battle Mode .
Our team brings experience from major studios across the videogame industry. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, we also work remotely around the United States and Canada for an unmatched quality of life and work.
We’ll work together to create amazing experiences for our fans across the world. You'll work on our hero pipeline, which brings to life original concept heroes—as well as beloved Disney and Pixar characters—inside our games. Your quest will be to develop a great gameplay experience while optimizing for the constraints of mobile games.
Responsibilities
Playing a key role in bringing high quality characters and art assets to life, you’ll use your Java coding skills to design and implement flexible combat engine features. You’ll also integrate art and implement mechanics for combat, characters and environments.
You’ll work in a collaborative environment with a cross-functional team of artists, designers, and QA to create game features, build art integration pipeline tooling and infrastructure, and bring the lore and legends of our games to life in the game engine.
Coding Qualifications
- Strong Java or C# background as evidenced by available coding samples
- Experience with programming at least one completed videogame project
- Programming experience in libGDX, Unity, Unreal, or another engine
- Working knowledge of version control systems (SVN, Git)

Other Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience writing shaders (GLSL/HLSL/Cg)
- Mobile development experience (Android, iOS)
- An interest and passion for gaming (RPG, Strategy)
- Desire and willingness to learn new technology and tools
- Experience with Spine 2D or other skeletal animation software
