Game Testing Lead

We are Keywords Studios. The video games industry represents the pinnacle of interactive digital content. At Keywords, we are using our passion for games, technology and media to create a global services platform for video games and beyond. We aim to become the “go to” provider of technical services.

At Keywords, the Game Testing Lead’s role is primarily to manage a project for success. This includes developing and running Test Cases, working directly with the Devs on QA planning, and eventually mentoring and supervising testers. The Test Lead is also responsible for continuously coaching and developing our testers through evaluations and live constructive feedback.

This contract position is WFH currently, but in the future will transition to being on-site with the devs in their downtown Seattle office.
The rate is $19 per hour (USD)

This Contract is expected to last 5 months

Role and Responsibilities:

• Build Test Cases and Test Plan
• Work directly with Devs on QA Planning
• Delegation and assignment of tasks to test team
• Delivering regular reports on project progress
• Keep Project Manager and test team aware of project status and blockers
• Manage bug database and workflow, including vetting issues for quality
• Monitor test progress and strategy in accordance with project goals
• Evaluating and coaching testers
• Use testing related tools as required to assist with verification

Requirements

• Experience writing Test Cases
• Minimum 1-year Test Lead experience or more
• 2 years Games QA industry experience or more
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English
• Passion for gaming and the games industry
• Strong leadership skills and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently.
• Capacity to delegate effectively, including decision making where appropriate.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience using VR Games (Oculus/PSVR/HTC Vive)
• Understanding of the 1st party submission requirements and certification process
• Familiarity with Database software (JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, etc.)
• Experience with video capture hardware and software.
